The power you can generate from deep visualisation is unlimited. Fortunately, visualising comes easily to most of us as we spend a stack of our time daydreaming! And if you can daydream, you can visualise...
You can create anything you want during visualisation so it’s a wonderful imagination tool, and it’s most effective when you create it as vividly as possible. Liven it up with all the sights, sounds, feelings and sensations that you can imagine until it comes to life within you.
Visualising is a great tool for anything ranging from relaxation to empowering yourself, to healing or preparing yourself for a tough situation. It can be done lying down in a comfortable position or, just as easily, sitting at a desk. Soft music can help to create a good mood for visualising.
When you’re ready, just close your eyes, give yourself permission to let go, and see yourself in the perfect environment you want to create. Go as deep into your place of calm as you can and, here is the mindful bit, feel every bit of it—the temperature, the water, the rain, the sun, the mountain mist—and hear every sound: the birds, the waterfalls and the waves.
The aim of this style of meditation is to bring back those feelings of calm or power to what you are doing now. Walk away from each of these sessions with the feelings of how you felt during your visualisation.
